Parity‐Violation Studies with Partially Stripped Ions

چکیده
A theoretical study of photoexcitation highly charged ions from their ground states, a process which can be realized at the Gamma Factory CERN, is presented. Special attention paid to question how excitation rates are affected by mixing opposite-parity ionic levels, induced both an external electric field and weak interaction between electrons nucleus. In order reinvestigate this “Stark-plus-weak-interaction” mixing, well-known in neutral atomic systems, we employ relativistic Dirac theory. Based on developed approach, detailed calculations performed for 1s 1 / 2 → $_{1/2} \rightarrow$ 2s1/2 s 3 ${\rm 1s}^2 \; {\rm 2s}_{1/2} \rightarrow 3s}_{1/2}$ (M1 + parity–violating–E1) transitions hydrogen- lithium-like ions, respectively. particular, focus difference obtained right- left-circularly polarized incident light. This arises due parity violating levels usually characterized terms circular–dichroism parameter. We argue that future measurements circular dichroism, with SPS or LHC rings, may provide valuable information electron–nucleus weak–interaction coupling.

Charge-exchange processes between excited helium and fully stripped ions.
We made a classical trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC) calculation of state selective cross sections for processes between some light ions and excited helium. The results, useful for analysis of spectroscopic data of fusion devices, are in good agreement with theoretical predictions of scaling laws.
متن کاملStopping Power Calculations for Partially Stripped Projectiles in High Energy Region
The electronic stopping cross-section is calculated in the spirit of the Bethe theory. Interaction potential between projectile and target is regarded to have a Coulombic character and we have modified it to take into account velocity dependences on a number of bound electrons of projectile and an effective charge of projectile and target. These velocity dependences are obtained from the Bohr a...

2014 The influence of the Stark effect on the l distribution of excited states produced by electron capture from atomic hydrogen into slow fully stripped ions is studied The Stark effect is strong enough, in these monoelectronic systems, to preclude any relation between the final l distribution and the primary process of electron capture. The latter determines the m distribution through « geome...
متن کاملComparative Studies on the Interaction of Proteinase-K with Nano-CuO and Copper Ions
The interaction of copper oxide nanoparticles and copper ions and proteinase K from Tritirachium album Limber has been investigated employing UV spectroscopy and kinetics measurements. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nanoparticles of CuO for proteinase K. In this paper we compare the effect of copper oxide nanoparticles with the effect of copper ions on proteinase K sta...
متن کاملStripped mirroring RAID architecture
Redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID) provide an ecient stable storage system for parallel access and fault tolerance. The most common fault tolerant RAID architecture is RAID-1 or RAID-5. The disadvantage of RAID-1 lies in excessive redundancy, while the write performance of RAID-5 is only 1/4 of that of RAID-0. In this paper, we propose a high performance and highly reliable disk arra...
